Printer’s Row brings a
new loft design concept
to downtown Saint Paul
Model Opens Friday, June 17
Saint Paul—Downtown Saint Paul loft buyers who haven’t
yet seen what they’re looking for have a new model to visit.
Printer’s Row, Lander Sherman’s newest addition to Saint
Paul’s growing Wacouta Commons neighborhood, opens its model
to the public on Friday, June 17. “We’re really excited
to open this model because the design concept for our Printer’s
Row buildings is so different from anything else in Saint Paul,”
Sales Director Tony Kriha. “It’s something people have
to see to comprehend.”
According to Kriha, the Printer’s Row
homes are unique in that they are contemporary new construction.
“Most of the new construction has a much more ‘traditional’
feel than what you’ll get in these buildings. This development
offers the best of both worlds – ‘loft-style’
design with open floor plans, fresh design, and huge windows, in
new construction that maximizes space and floor plan,” he
said. The two-bedroom/two-bathroom model features oversized windows,
polished concrete floors, front patio, street front entry, designer
kitchen cabinets and a fireplace. The homes are located only a half
block from the new Wacouta Commons Park, now under construction
and expected to be completed this fall.
Printer’s Row, located at the intersection
of Temperance and 9th Streets, consists of two newly-constructed
contemporary buildings, each housing 42-single story urban homes.
The first building will be completed for fall move-ins. The second
building will be available for move-in in fall 2006. Prices range
from $169,900 to $500,000’s. According to Kriha, nearly 50%
of the homes have already been sold/reserved. Buyers are a mix of
first time home buyers, young professionals, and empty nesters.
Beginning Friday, June 17, the Printer’s
Row model will be open from Noon-4 p.m. It is located at 195 E.
9th Street, at the corner of 9th & Temperance. For further information

The architecture for the Printer’s
Row buildings complements that of the rest of the neighborhood,
including 9th Street Lofts’ 1909 warehouse building and the
more traditional Essex and Dakota on the Park. The buildings are
located on a site historically used for printing companies, but
more recently occupied by surface parking lots.
Wacouta Commons is being developed by Lander
Sherman Urban Development, a partnership of The Lander Group, a
Minneapolis-based, award-winning development firm specializing in
urban in-fill development, and Sherman Associates, a recognized
housing development and construction firm with more than 20 years
of experience in the five-state region. Project partners include
the City of Saint Paul, Metropolitan Council, Minnesota Housing
Finance Agency, and HUD. Kraus-Anderson Construction provides general
contracting services. ESG Architects and Close Landscape Architecture
provide architectural and architectural landscape services respectively.
